I'm In LA, I'm The Vibe
It's timeee for another trip recap! My friends and I recently celebrated a member of our 316 crew, Happy Birthday Jada Woo! The 3-Day trip consisted of a 2-Day LA Stay and a road trip to enjoy our last day in San Diego. It was my first time in California and it was definitely a vibe. Keep reading for a recap on all the day-to-day highlights.
Proverbs 3:23-24 – Then you will go safely on your way, and you will not hurt your foot. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. As you lie there, your sleep will be sweet.

Thursday
We decided to leave on Thursday in order to fully enjoy our weekend ahead. There was a change in our plans since booking so upon our land in San Diego we departed on our road trip to LA. We made plans to hit the streets of LA for our first night, but we were humbled by our 3 AM arrival time so we chose to hit the sheets instead.

My initial departing flight landed a mere 10 minutes before the departure of my connecting flight, leaving me sprinting though the airport to catch it chile. But God is good.....All the time cus I made it! Luckily my girly and I had the same connecting flight on our way to San Diego and was able to save me a seat. And we're off to Cali!

We're In-N-Out
We decided to stop and get a quick bite before we hit the road and I couldn't leave Cali without trying In-N-Out for myself (and my sister). I rarely eat hamburgers but this was nice treat. The "special sauce" elevated it and it was made picture perfect. I will say however, we reached a group consensus that the fries were a little less desirable. It's giving cardboard....

Met Gala Theme: Road Trip
If I don't do anything else, I'm gonna dress for the occasion. LA here we come!
Friday
It's explore LA day and that we did. With only a few hours of sleep and 24 hours to experience a new city, a time was had.
Jamaican Me Crazy
We're in LA but we went Jamaican for brunch. I love brown stew chicken and A Beautiful Life Jamaican Kitchen did not disappoint. The food, drinks, and service were all exceptional. The music was a bit underwhelming at first but upon a group request the vibe was most definitely turnt up.

Right Back On Rodeo
After a quick outfit change after brunch, I put on a quick shopping fit and we hit the streets of Rodeo. With so much to see and so little time I unfortunately wasn't able to browse all the shops so I'll def have to spin the block on my next Cali trip. Majority of our time was spent in Tory Burch which raised absolutely no complaints out of me. The staff were super friendly and we even got a great photo op on the roof (Check my Insta). I'm working on not making impulse purchases so I regretfully did not buy the super funky black and white frames in my selfie above. But I've just found them online at a super great price so all is good in the hood and they'll be mine soon.
Sidenote: I absolutely love this Pink collared top from Fashion Nova (Sponsor me at this point). I need to check if they have more colors. Also the Versace espadrilles are a new faveee, They definitely have to be broken in but second wears' the charm!
Fashion Killa
I don't always toot my own horn but if you don't hype yourself up who will?? This outfit is definitely going into my "Favorite Fits" archive. I definitely don't get all the credit though so shout out to God my stylist because the pieces find me, I don't find the pieces. Both the top and skort are from Zara, they aren't a matching set but I think they go together REAL BAD. Broadway Bar in LA was graced with my presence and my super cute fit. It was our intention to club hop but we ended up dancing the night away on Broadway. I loved the aesthetic it was very chic with 2-levels, good music, and giant shots chile. There's a very mixed crowd but everyone was dancing and seating was open and free, Atlanta catch up. I still wanna learn how to "dance like the LA people" lol.
Sidenote: I purchased my fit a while ago so unfortunately it's no longer available on Zara's Site but I found some similar alternatives that are just as cute!
Saturday
It's road trip time again and we're on the way back to San Diego. There weren't any specific plans in place besides dinner reservations so it was straight Saturday vibes. It's our last day in Cali unfortunately but I had a blast with my girlies as always. Another California blog coming eventually because there's so many things I didn't get to experience, like Roscoe's and Nobu lol.
M Is For Matcha, N Is For Nap
Before we hit the road for San Diego I had to get my morning matcha. Unfortunately it wasn't that great, I've gotten so particular about how my matcha tastes since I've started making my own. Matcha has such an earthy flavor so it definitely should be made with precision and love to make it taste better lol. If you love matcha or are interested in trying it out click on my matcha pic below to view my TikTok tutorial on how I make my matcha lattes at home.
I'm usually the car nap QUEEN but naps and the middle seat don't cultivate a comfortable combo so I got a quick nap snap of my girlies.

Gassed Up Shawty
We made a pitstop halfway to LA to let the Tessie charge up and a Cane's stop to refuel ourselves as well. The chicken tenders were bussin I am now a Cane's fan. However, I'm not sure if it's a California thing or what but all the fries I've had on the trip have been less than desirable. I don't believe I'm critiquing harshly because I'm a french fry connoisseur, it was a big discussion and consensus amongst the group each time we encountered some fries.

The Last Supper
Jada's official birthday dinner and the conclusion of our trip ended at La Conde a Latin American restaurant with a whimsical and elegant atmosphere. I ordered the Branzino which is a fish I've been wanting to try for a while so when I saw it on the menu I had to go for it. It was prepared in a mustard based sauce from what I could taste, I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce, but the fish was very tender and full of flavor. It was also a huge piece of fish I barely put a dent in it. The restaurant was a bit costly but for the serving size, taste, and atmosphere I would deem it worthy of its pricing. We finished the night off with a bit of bar/lounge hopping but the San Diego nightlife had no comparison to our LA vibes the night before.

Later Dude!
