"Ultimate Miami Girls Trip: A Recap of Our Adventures and Party Hotspots"

TariDoll

I just left the YAMSSS and when I tell you I had a TIME! If you don't know I'm from Miami but have never experienced an official "Miami Girls Trip" so I had such high hopes for my first one. This trip definitely met every expectation and I left the city with all of my friendships still in tact. I'm not sure why there's a stigma around girls trips to Miami but as long as you're traveling with genuine friends and enough money lol it should always be smooth sailing.

We went for one of my close friends' birthday, Happy Belated Birthday Talia, but she was sure to include some Miami must-see spots I really wanted to go to so I'm so grateful! If you want the rundown on how to have an upscale while authentic Miami experience keep reading for some of my favorite moments from the weekend.

Psalm 89:8-9:

Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them

Thursday

If you've read any of my travel blog posts by now you should know that I love to start my vacations on a Thursday. 4 out of 5 of my Miami crew landed early in the day so we could enjoy the fullness of our fun weekend ahead.

World Famous or Local?

Our second stop, after a mandatory Target run of course, was to World Famous Miami Gardens for a quick bite. It took a while to figure out what to order as they have an EXPANSIVE menu with a variation of eggroll and other fun foods. I decided on the hibachi eggroll and chicken philly eggroll (pictured below) and I'd rate them a 6/10 overall. For starters they provide large portions, the eggrolls were huge, my friends and I agreed that we probably should've shared. I can't recall how much I paid but for around $15 I will say you get what you pay for!

Kiki Do You Love Me?

We started the weekend off at Kiki on the River and it was definitely the highlight of my trip. From the ambiance of being right on the water, seeing the yachts pull in, the party atmosphere, and the food!

So let's start with the food, I ordered the Salmon Saganaki and it exceeded my expectations. I'm pleasantly surprised because I wouldn't consider myself a "foodie" but as you can see the plate was scraped! All entrees were served a la carte so I plan on ordering a few sides next time to accompany the salmon because a stop at Wendy's was made on the way home. "Everyone had a full meal but unfortunately no one had a full stomach" - Talia S.

On to the overall experience. The music was great, I'm a pop and live music fan and Kiki's kept those vibes going all night. The atmosphere was very reminiscent of a beach/night club in Mexico with the saxophone player, Tulum(esque) chandeliers, and smoke machines. We didn't even make it to the club that night because Kiki on the River gave us everything we needed.

Friday

The remainder of the crew has finally touched down and we're headed out for a day of relaxation.

Hey Nikki Nikki

We made it to Nikki Beach and it's a destination I've been wanting to experience for a while. And boy did it meet my expectations! I'm a (somewhat) simple girl, give me some sun, food, and water and I'm happy! LOL wait am I a plant??? But anyways if you don't know Nikki Beach is the first and original luxury beach with locations in some of the most luxurious hotspots around the world. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience from the landscaping, private beach access, and kale caesar wrap I can't wait until my next visit this summer. The only downside to my experience was the service I received in the latter half of my stay. Granted my friends and I did spend a large portion of the day at the beach club but as there's no time limit on the day bed rentals I would hope to receive great service throughout the entirety of our stay.

What the Lique Read?

Dinner on Friday night was held at Lique Miami, a waterfront restaurant with a menu that features a wide variation of Mediterranean dishes, sushi and more. I decided to go for some light bites as I wasn't that hungry at the time. I ordered the Caesar salad and tuna tartare. Not sure if the salad was intended to be a Mediterranean twist on the classic Caesar but it just didn't seem to hit for me. The dressing had a more sour taste than your usual caesar dressing and the croutons were also a mix on the traditional bread crouton, resembling more of a hard cracker. On to the tartare, no complaints here, it wasn't the best I've ever had but definitely tasty. It was served alongside white wafer like crisps that were very airy and paired fine with the dish.

I really loved the aspect of photographers going around the restaurant and providing framed photos to guests for purchase. We experienced this at multiple restaurants during our trip and I absolutely love it, makes the perfect souvenir!

Saturday

 Miami Mamis

It's yacht day! We put on our designated swimsuit colors, orange and pink, and we're out on the water. I'm not the biggest water fan and to clarify I mean I love to drink it but don't love being in the water. But, something about being on the water brings me peace so I thoroughly enjoyed our yacht day. Check out a mini tour of the boat on my Tiktok here: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLy3WnQF/

During one of our many store stops we decided to pick up some White claws and see what all the hype was about. I'm here to tell you the hype was real and about something lol! They're surprisingly refreshing and acted as a great chaser for the multiple shots taken for the birthday girl. My only advisory is to remember that it is still indeed an alcoholic beverage and to drink in moderation.

We hit up "The Licking", formerly known as Fingalicking, on our way home after the yacht for a quick meal to power back up. My last experience with the restaurant was years prior and not too memorable but my feelings have since changed. I ordered the fried snapper with sides of mac & cheese and green beans. The fish was perfectly fried and both sides were equally tasty! I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in Miami.

G For Giselle

It's our last night together in Miami and we're out to Giselle for dinner. While we went 3 for 3 on all the restaurants we'd tried over the weekend so far, the aesthetics of Giselle were in my top 2 favorites. This was a SEXY restaurant! I admit I'm a sucker for anything pink so the fluorescent pink lighting that backlit the restaurant might've done it for me but the overall atmosphere was so captivating. Our waiter provided us with an extensive background behind the dishes on the menu including sourcing and the intention behind the blending of the Asian, Mediterranean, and French inspired dishes. I decided to veer away from my usual salmon for the night and really delve into the eclectic atmosphere. I had the Hamachi crudo and mushroom escargot, both dishes were elevated and fit the profile of the restaurant beautifully. I absolutely loved the Hamachi, I'm in my raw sushi and love for anything coconut era so fresh Hamachi in a coconut cream sauce made the perfect pairing! The mushroom escargot was a great vegetarian version of the traditional escargot, baked in an herb butter and served with sourdough toast. Giselle offered an expansive menu with other items I'd love to try including a caviar "bump" so it is yet another restaurant I've added to my Miami go-to list.

Sunday

It's so hard to say goodbye...

When In Wynwood

It's the girls and I last day together before we disperse across the country again :(

But, we decided to spend our last day in Wynwood and soak in some sun and some food to enjoy our last few hours together. If you're not familiar with Wynwood, it's known for it's colorful murals, multitude of shops, and restaurants. Dukunoo, a Jamaican restaurant in the area, is always on my go-to list when I come to Miami so it was the perfect end cap with my girls. We ordered our usual oxtails, rice and peas, and plantain Snapper bites. I love the consistency here because it hits every time! We left with full bellies and another framed photo for the road.

We decided to do a little roam around the area before drop offs at the airport when we came across the jewelry store Mejuri. I've seen their pieces multiple times on social media but had no idea they had physical stores as well. After roaming the store and admiring many beautiful pieces I came across the one thing I just had to have, the Patra Diamond Tennis ring (pictured below). Unfortunately the ring is priced at $1,200 which is currently over my impulse buying limit. But best believe she (or a similar dupe) will be mine soon.
