Broccoli City In Chocolate City
This post is a fun oneeee (Well aren't they all). Here to let y'all know that Broccoli City had ya girl litty in the cityy! Me and my girlies attended Broccoli City, a 2-day festival hosted in Washington D.C that featured 40+ artists across 2 different stages. The girls and I stumbled across the festival in an attempt to find a Brent Faiyaz concert that aligned on a day that worked for everyone. Low and behold we saw that he was headlining Broccoli City this year. With the plethora of other artists we'd get to see it was a no brainer we had to go! Keep reading for a breakdown of what we did day by day, outfit deetz, and my fav part of the trip...the food!

Friday
It's arrival dayy, well arrival night. We got in pretty late on Friday due to numerous flight delays so not much to review here but our hotel room was a vibe and suited my crew of 5 nicely! After a long travel day we checked out a pizza place that I will not disclose lol. We may have witnessed a mouse running across the ground mid pizza bite but Ratatouille did his thing because the pizza was just the first of many great D.C meals.

The Crib
Global Luxury Suites at Revel is a definite recommend. Our hotel room featured 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, washer+dryer, and top flight security systems to get in lol.
Saturday
It's Festival Day-1 and I'm showing up with the real festival vibes. I wasn't sure what to wear initially but I decided to interpret Broccoli City as a Black Coachella so I came with the cute fairy festival vibes for Day-1. I will say makeup was a big no no for me and the girls. We were nearly sweating our faces off chile. So if you're heading to any festivals this summer embrace the bare face girly and make sure you cop and portable fan! Link to the fan I purchased: \
Breakfast Babes

Had to get my fuel up before the long hot day ahead. In true girl fashion we sorted through food places for half an hour before deciding to just get out the house and figure it out on the way. We decided on Po Boy Jim Bar & Grill and chilee we left with no regrets. I got the French Toast Breakfast and it was super filling. Perfect if you love different options to try while eating. I don't eat pork bacon but for all the lovers out there you'd be such a fan of this place. As you can see in the pic it comes with a lot so try not to pig out lol.

Festival Fairy
I love an opportunity to put a cute fit together, but a creative cute fit?? Yeah this was right up my alley. Besides the error of wearing a full face I loved how the face jewels tied everything together and the overall outfit was perfect for the activities and the elements. I will say these boots may have been made for walking but not long distances...
I got so many compliments on my fit and even a couple interviews chile. I have no idea where they were posted to though so if you see me floating around please tag ya girl lol

Sunday
If you're out of town and don't go to Brunch on Sunday...What you doin??!? Had to get us a lil sustenance before Day 2 of the festival and we ran up on another hit. I can confidently say we didn't experience a single miss in the food category, DC got it right! The weather was a little less desirable, but as the well prepared women we are, ponchos were on deck and the show went on.

Baddies Who Brunch
For Sunday Brunch we decided on Victory Lounge DC. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a "champagne syrup" I would give it a solid 8.5/10 (Chicken was a bit bland). My friend said they had the best hookah she ever had though so if that's your vibe you'd love it here. The DJ was also playing nothing but hits so I'll definitely be returning here and
checking out their Miami location!

I'll Take Some Rain With My Sunshine
Sunday was a straight downpour chile, but a couple rain drops don't stop no show. Luckily it was just a bit of a sun shower so by the time we made it through security it was nothing but sunny skies. It also rained Saturday evening causing us to miss Jazmine Sullivans and Lil Uzi's performance but pending a refund for Day-1 so we love that <3
Brown Skin Girls

Monday
What was supposed to be a museum touring day turned into a beat the clock cleanup to make it out by check-out time lol. We of course made time for brunch though (Kitchen+Kocktails; 10/10) before half the group departed. For the rest of us though the show went on: Scooting through DC, Icecream stops, and Tiktoks
Baddies Who Scoot
What was originally a 10 minute walk from brunch to The White House
eventually turned into a scooter ride instead. I haven't ridden a scooter since I was
young so it took a while to bring those motor skills back lol. But, once I
got it I was rollinnnnn.

Overview: Overall I had a great time and it's always so wonderful to link up with my friends since we live in diff cities (Love you girlies). I am also so thankful to my God for the abundance he's granted me as His daughter to have such wonderful experiences and opportunities. All in all I will probably not be attending anymore festivals neither of such capacity or established around secular music artists. As a born again Christian it was a bit out of my new element and I did not witness anything that was bringing glory to my Father so I am choosing to remove myself out of such environments. I also decided to practice sobriety on this trip, in order to be fully sober and to practice my discernment at all times! I say all this to say you CAN have a fun time with friends while following the commands of God. A life with Christ isn't a boring one but it is different and new!
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
